The new 23,000-square-foot Light Composites headquarters will allow the company to expand operations and deliver its carbon fiber aerospace and medical solutions more efficiently.
San Diego, CA — Light Composites is excited to announce the acquisition of a new facility that will unite its operations under one roof, marking a major step in the company’s growth journey.
Over the past several years, Light Composites has expanded quickly with the support of a growing base of strong customers and vendors in both medical and aerospace technologies. In 2022, that growth pushed its original 7000 square foot production facility to its limits, prompting the company to add a second 9000 square foot location for machining, assembly, quality control and administrative offices. While operating across two campuses allowed Light Composites to meet demand, it also created logistical and communication challenges as the team (now more than 55 people) worked across locations to complete manufacturing, finishing, and shipping processes.
The newly acquired 23,000-square-foot facility — roughly 30% larger than both existing locations combined — will allow Light Composites to streamline operations, improve collaboration among its team members, and better support customers. The facility, located at 13860 Stowe Drive in Poway, CA, is within walking distance of the Hampton Inn, providing convenient accommodations for visiting customers and vendors. It is also situated among leading American manufacturers such as General Atomics, Aldila Composites, and Teledyne. Renovations begin in January 2026, and the company plans to occupy the new space by April 2026.
“I have always believed that owning your facility is fundamental to the security of your business and this acquisition puts us on that path. This move wouldn’t be possible without the trust and support of our customers, vendors and partners,” said Ryan Hosmer, CEO of Light Composites.“Bringing our entire team together under one roof will help us work more efficiently, strengthen collaboration, and continue growing in ways that will benefit everyone we work with, most importantly our customers.”
Light Composites looks forward to this next chapter and the chance to expand its production capacity, explore new partnerships, and continue delivering high-quality composite solutions.
